Neal Schon recently took to his social media and voiced his support for Journey bandmate Arnel Pineda after the singer faced negative comments about his recent performance at Rock in Rio.

Schon has responded to Pineda about his recent statement about possibly leaving the band. The rocker also blamed Avenged Sevenfold for causing sound issues during Journey’s set.

“All this absolute garbage fabricated bullshit about AP. Does this look like nobody had a good time? I’m asking you. All fabricated, owed and bought blogs, bullshit,” the rocker shared with a video from their recent show.

Schon also posted a clip of Journey taking a bow at the end of their Rio performance and claimed that Avenged Sevenfold controlled their sound output.

“This clip is from Rio, even though we found out much later that we got extremely limited by Avenged Sevenfold. That means that hardly any sound can get out of the PA to the audience. It’s a bullshit move. Check out the audience. They loved it the rest of it’s fabricated crap.”

Schon also responded to fan questions in the comments. He replied ‘no’ when asked if Journey’s technical crew could have fixed the issue. In another comment, he blamed ‘politics’ for Avenged Sevenfold headlining instead of Journey.

Just before Schon’s posts, Pineda also addressed the sound issues during the set and how it affected him. Pineda also offered to leave the band in one condition.

“Mentally and emotionally, I’ve suffered already, and I’m still suffering… but I’ll be ok. So here’s the deal here now… I am offering you a chance now (especially those who’s hated me and never liked me from the very beginning) to simply text GO or STAY right here.. And if GO reaches 1 million I’m stepping out for good. Are you game folks? Let’s start,” the singer wrote on Facebook.

The next leg of Journey’s current tour is set to take place in Japan in October. Their next confirmed U.S. date is scheduled for December 28 in Lincoln, California.
