Hesperia man killed in Adelanto crash identified

Authorities have released the identity of a Hesperia man who died in a two-vehicle crash along Highway 395 in Adelanto last week.

Victor Bautista, 53, was killed in the crash, which took place about 10:50 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15, along Highway 395 south of Desert Flower Road, according to San Bernardino County coroner's records.

He was driving a 2003 Mini Cooper south when the car drifted into opposing traffic and collided with a northbound 2023 GMC Sierra pickup truck, California Highway Patrol officials said at the time.

Bautista died at the scene, authorities said.

A 23-year-old Idaho man who was driving the pickup truck was treated for minor injuries, officials said.
