Good afternoon everyone. We're watching several batches of heavy showers & thunderstorms, as well as individual heavier thunderstorms, moving across parts of Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio.

Low pressure exiting out of the Midwest and into the Great Lakes region, will continue to help form these clusters of soaking rain, rumbles, and scattered stronger storms throughout the region. Look for this action to continue through the afternoon, into the evening, and possibly into the overnight hours.

Areas such as Chicago, Grand Rapids, Detroit, South Bend, Fort Wayne, and Toledo, may all get some good soaking rains in areas that need it in a big way. In other areas central Illinois, central Indiana, and central Ohio, we could see a severe weather component to this.

Some of these individual thunderstorm cells will continue to build as the day wears on. Locally damaging winds, hail, frequent lightning, torrential rain, and maybe even a funnel cloud, are all possible. While not everyone will see this heavier action, keep an eye to the sky and the radar for anything that may pop up.
