Ebensburg to host 33rd annual PotatoFest

EBENSBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — The 33rd annual PotatoFest will kick off on Sept. 28 in historic downtown Ebensburg.

The festival, which is scheduled run from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday, will include nearly 300 of the area’s arts, crafts and food vendors. All booths will line High, Center, Julian and Sample Streets, with some located in the Prave Parking Lot, Veteran’s Memorial Park and Penn Eben Park.

“The PotatoFest Committee and Main Street Partnership work year-round to put together a family-friendly event that has a little something for everyone,” Danea Koss, Community Development Director, said. “We really focus on attracting all types of people from our area and beyond.”

Returning this year will be a designated area for kids called “Adventures in Spudland,” which will be hosted by Hogue’s Fun Factory. Spudland will feature several inflatable bounce areas as well as select crafts.

There will also be a “Kid’s Potato Patch” and Mini Golf at the Ebensburg Presbyterian Church. New this year, the STEM Rocks Van, hosted by IU8, will offer hands-on STEM activities for kids in the First National Bank lot.

Steel City Axe will be on Sample and Center Street with their mobile axe throwing unit. The Dauntless Fire Station will also host their “Annual Wine Extravaganza” at their station, with admission starting at $10. A ticket includes a wine glass and wine tasting.

There is no charge to attend PotatoFest and free shuttles will run from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. from Admiral Peary Vo-Tech and Central Cambria School (Rt. 422), Penn Highlands Community College, Lake Rowena and the American Legion County Fairgrounds.
