I used to live in the Gallatin Valley and saw electric bills climb over the 45 years I lived there. It wasn't too bad with Montana Power but with Northwest Energy, increases seemed to come more often and cost more. Even with budget billing it was costing a bit over $200 a month. I had no air conditioning and had installed a tankless water heater plus heated and cooked with gas. I sold my home a few years ago and no longer was at the mercy of NW Energy. In Libby, there is no natural gas and my brand new place is 500 Sq ft less and even with temperature in the high 90's in August with the A/C set at 70, I hit my high bill with the Flathead Electric Co-op at $71.
