Coral Springs Teacher Gets Check for $2,500 from Air Pros USA to Pay for Classroom Supplies

CORAL SPRINGS, FL - A teacher at a Coral Springs middle school got a big surprise on Tuesday – a check for $2,500.

The money for Sawgrass Springs Middle School science teacher Judy Brenner will help her offset the cost of buying classroom supplies.

It’s estimated that teachers spend an average of $673 a year out of their own pockets, and this year inflation is expected to drive that even higher.

Air Pros USA, an air conditioning services company with a location in Coral Springs, provided the check to Brenner through the company’s Air Pros Powering Legendary Educators (APPLE) initiative, which recognizes K-12 educators in Broward County.

The check, the company said in a news release, will ensure Brenner’s classroom is stocked with all the necessary supplies, resources and projects to enhance learning.

Brenner’s colleagues describe her as someone who is not only being passionate about teaching science, but also life skills, the release said.

“Teaching is a career that has a ripple effect,” Brenner said in a release.

“When educators teach children not only their subject matter but kindness and social-emotional skills, it reaches far beyond those immediate students and has a much larger impact on our world,” she added.
