Multiple Tulsa businesses recently targeted by vandals

TULSA, Okla. — After multiple Tulsa businesses have been recently targeted by vandals, FOX23 spoke with the CEO of Tulsa Opera who's encouraging other businesses who may have been targeted to report it.

FOX23 told you the glass door at Tulsa Opera was smashed out over the weekend.

According to Tulsa Police, the Tulsa Opera isn't the only business recently vandalized.

Windows were also smashed out at a Moody's Jewelry and the World Stage Theater near 11th and Harvard last weekend.

FOX23 spoke with the CEO of Tulsa Opera, Lori Decter Wright, on Tuesday.

She’s encouraging other businesses that may have been targeted to report it so police can see if there’s a pattern.

Decter Wright, who is also a city councilor, told FOX23 she thinks the vandalism was targeted.

"Somebody had to choose to come into our parking lot,” she said. “It definitely wasn't random. A decision was made by whoever, or if there were multiple people that did this, to come into our parking lot and take action the way they did.”

Decter Wright said the vandals need to consider the consequences of their actions.

“If small businesses get hit, it costs money to make these repairs,” she said. “It's not insignificant, and just the fear factor is disconcerting. It's disconcerting to come to your place of business and find vandalism."

She urges other businesses and companies to stay alert.

"Please be aware this happened to our company, exercise extra caution and awareness at your own facility and if you do see anything, definitely file that police report and let the rest of us know,” Decter Wright said. “If there seems to be a pattern, the police department can pick up on that."

Tulsa Police ask if you have any information about the recent vandalism, reach out to Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS (2677).

I remember when Tulsa police actually patrolled the city. Back when Democrats were in charge.
