Well, that sounds like a recipe for something exotic, but let me remind you that the most affordable V-8 sports car you could buy is not as expensive as you were probably expecting.<h2>Born In America, Bred Like A European </h2>The most affordable sports car with a V-8 that I'm referring to is the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray, a sports car born in America, but whose driving dynamics and development ethos are more European exotic. Now, I didn't pick the Mustang because I think this car is currently in an arbitrary situation wherein it's traditionally classified as a muscle car, but now drives like a precision sports car. The Corvette, however, has been unequivocally a sports car ever since its birth in 1953.<h2>Expensive, But Not Exotic Expensive </h2><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=4D5BVi_0viOO3gk00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=4D5BVi_0viOO3gk00" width="1650" height="928" ><figcaption>Porsche</figcaption></figure>The 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray starts at $68,300, which is nowhere near what anyone would consider an affordable car. However, when you compare it to what else you can buy at a similar price tag, the Corvette Stingray is a steal. A similar car to the Corvette Stingray in terms of price would be a 2024 Porsche 718 Cayman, which retails for $72,800. Sounds good for a Porsche, until you realize that this is the base 718 Cayman with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder boxer engine, whose sound profile is more Subaru BRZ than Porsche flat-six. Immediately, the power advantage goes to the Corvette Stingray, but even in feature content, the Corvette Stingray broadens the lead even further. Porsche charges for almost every optional extra you could think of, especially if you don't want any of the four non-metallic color choices or the basic alloy wheels on offer. The Corvette also has optional extras, but you'll spend less on optional extras when going for the Chevy, and most are bundled at trim levels anyway. Merely from this upgrade, the Corvette Stingray is a tenth faster to 60 mph, whilst looking nicer and performing better in the process.<h2>What's It Like To Live With A Corvette Stingray </h2>The 2024 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is one hell of an impressive machine, and indeed it is, especially from the words of someone in our team who actually owns one and has even reviewed one as well. Time does indeed fly by so fast, because the Corvette Stingray has already been in production for four years now. Even then, we feel like it's a timelessly engineered machine, still remaining significant in 2024 and getting better than ever as time goes by.<h2>Drives As Great As It Looks </h2>When Chevrolet transformed the Corvette into a European-esque mid-engined sports car, the course of history for this nameplate forever changed. The Corvette Stingray was so radically different, it could've been given a new name altogether. Now in 2024, the Corvette Stingray still drives like a dream, The V-8 and eight-speed dual-clutch transmission are a match made in heaven, and handling is also superb. With or without the adaptive magnetic dampers, the Corvette Stingray is reasonably comfortable, the drivetrain perfectly docile when needed, and the practicality, while not the best, is doable thanks to the combined 12.6 cubic feet of cargo capacity at the front and rear trunks.However, the biggest caveat here is its ground clearance. Unsurprisingly, this car is very low, and since we're in the pursuit of getting the most affordable Corvette Stingray possible, the 1LT can't be optionally fitted with the Front Lift system. For that, you'll have to step up to the 2LT at the very least for $75,400, then add another $2,595 for the Front Lift. Google Built-In also means that the infotainment system has native Google support, such as Google Maps, Google Assistant, and even the Play Store. However, the new infotainment system will only be taken to full advantage if it is matched with a data plan. Otherwise, the infotainment system offers little in terms of functionality. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, however, are still fitted in this new infotainment system.</div></body>
