Mount Olive suffered a narrow 1-0 loss against Wingate on the road last Tuesday before rebounding with a 2-1 victory over Lincoln Memorial on Saturday. UMO continues conference play this week against a pair of postseason opponents from 2023 in Limestone and Newberry.Shippensburg secured the top spot in the national poll with 20 first-place votes after starting the year with a 6-0 record and recently defeating a ranked Kutztown program by a 2-0 margin. The defending national champions, Kutztown (5-1) dropped one position to No. 2 in the rankings while East Stroudsburg (6-1) remained third overall. Bloomsburg (8-1) and West Chester (5-2) each climbed one slot in the poll to round out the top five.The SAC features two programs in the top 10 this week, as Newberry entered the poll at No. 7 behind a 6-0 record with a 3-0 mark in league play.The NFHCA recognizes that the weekly rankings are the association's best attempt to compare the strengths and weaknesses of each NCAA division's field hockey programs from across the nation. The rankings are a reflection of the best teams each week as reported by the voting institutions.
