More questions that wouldn’t fit in my original post:Why did other towns have money set aside and able to use grant money for their water tower and we didn’t?Why did my water bill go up to cover new sidewalks? In the Morningside subdivision sidewalks are the financial responsibility of the homeowner.Where did the money go that we were paying when we didn’t have emergency services last April?Would it not have been cheaper to consolidate with York road station? How in the world did this leadership team manage to destroy a 5 decade relationship with Union North Ambulance Service?

Sorry for the long winded comment here. I didn’t get the chance to attend last nights meeting due to only a 2 day notice which seems to be SOP under Lori Kelly’s leadership. While I agree having emergency service is a great thing, I disagree with how it is being handled. In a town of under 900 residents we have seen our property taxes double, water bill double, and now this added cost. Per our latest census data roughly 60% of our population works and has a median income of less than $43K. These increases simply are not sustainable. I have questions I know won’t get answered here but will hopefully be seen and start conversations in our community. Who decided how many personnel we need and the pay rate they will get?Does this new rate cover that in full or another raise coming? Why did we use a traveling water tower company to “sell” us a new tower when repairs could have been made? Interesting that this traveling company also “sold” water towers to other local towns
