Even if they get clean get housing. They need jobs. Family owned businesses won’t hire them. The city can talk all it wants. They can build all the so called affordable housing they want. But if people don’t have a place to work then they can’t pay for the things they need. Spokane has failed to grow. Further, why hasn’t prevention been talked about. Every year hundreds of kids graduate high school. Not all go to university. Where do they find well paying jobs? Spokane hasn’t brought in industry jobs that can train workers.

Shoving our homeless into neighborhoods is NOT the answer. Long term facilities to teach life skills, emotional health, addiction recovery. Long term complete rehab. Rehabilitation can take years! Long term choices but what you do not get to do is live on the streets and terrorize communities.
