A pedestrian was struck by a driver who led authorities on a high-speed chase that ended in a crash in the South Los Angeles area Tuesday night.

The suspect allegedly hit the pedestrian with a red Lexus near Avalon Boulevard and 92nd Street and kept driving. The victim was rushed to a local trauma center in unknown condition.

After hitting the pedestrian, the suspect kept driving and slammed into another driver in a black sedan.

The chase ended near 73rd and Avalon when the suspect lost control and crashed. The Lexus lost three tires during the pursuit and its windshield and roof were damaged.

The suspect was handcuffed and taken away by ambulance to be checked for any injuries.

The pursuit initially began around 8 p.m. near the 405 and 110 freeways.

At one point, the suspect hit speeds of over 120 mph on the 60 Freeway in the San Gabriel Valley and narrowly avoided other vehicles while switching lanes.

The driver was suspected in an unspecified felony incident, according to the California Highway Patrol. Further details were not immediately released.
