NEWBURGH – The Mount Saint Mary College women’s volleyball team beat the City College of New York 3-0 Saturday afternoon. Mount Saint Mary was looking to build off their dominant win over Saint Elizabeth, and boy did they do just that. They came out rolling, as Brooke Lavelle had two kills in their opening run to go up 5-1. The Beavers pushed back eventually making it a tie game at 10-10. The Knights capitalized off some CCNY mistakes to take the lead back 18-14. The Beavers kept hanging around, scoring four unanswered to make the first set 18-18. The Mount was done playing around as they went on a 7-2 run to close out the set 25-20, with an Ava DiScala kill as the cherry on top.
