Haivala earns silver medal

EUSTACE — The Miller Grove cross country teams participated in the Do It for Dom Invitational cross country meet at Eustace High School. Each team represented their school, with strong performances.

HORNETS

The Miller Grove Hornets did well in the varsity boys race, running hard and tough.

Ryker Haivala led the way, placing second and earning a silver medal with a time of 17:43. Joseph Roberson was second on the team, placing 21st with a time of 20:28.

Rounding out the boys results were Drew Lester, 26th with a time of 20:42; Cannon Ramsey, 32nd with a time of 21:08; Yahir Santana, 45th with a time of 22:11; Cameron Sears, 59th with a time of 23:59; Jesse Yates, 60th with a time of 24:07; and Yandel Santana, 69th with a time of 26:00.

LADY HORNETS

The Miller Grove Lady Hornets were represented by two runners in the varsity girls race.

Kylie Hargrove placed 28th with a time of 15:21. Rylie Stacener also represented the Lady Hornets, placing 46th with a time of 16:16.

UP NEXT

Both teams’ next meet is Friday, when they compete in the Ken Gaston “Race at the Lake” Invitational at Lynn Creek Park in Grand Prairie.
