Publix Rolls Out FL NFL Football-Themed "Pub Subs" Wings, Dips, Brats, & Teas

Many Floridians enjoy "Pub subs." After all, you can get them made precisely to your liking and the grocer will typically put one variety on sale each week. So if you choose wisely, you can arguably get a large sub filled with meat, cheese, and veggies for a somewhat reasonable choice.

However, for Floridians who need a special occasion to try or enjoy a Pub Sub, Publix has just rolled out their NFL lineup. Let's have a look at the offerings.

Florida's NFL Pub Subs: Although Publix offers some NFL-themed subs outside of Florida, this article will only cover Florida. I will also include prices available my market when I can find them.

First up, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Sub: This sub starts with the chicken tender sub, which is reportedly Publix's most popular. However, it's kicked up a bit and fit for a pirate because it adds bacon, cheddar cheese, and spicy mustard. Current pricing showing up on Publix's website is $9.99 for a 12-inch as of this writing, since the sub is on sale.

Next up, the Miami Dolphins Sub: Although people from Tampa may take exception, Miami is thought to be a place to get a fantastic Cuban sandwich, and Publix's take on that is a Pub Sub that is a spin on a traditional Cuban since it adds lemon garlic aioli and jalapeno for a blend of sweet and spicy.

The Jacksonville Jaguars: Those who enjoy both the Jaquars and barbecue flavors may like this sandwich which starts with the beloved chicken tender sub, but adds barbecue mayonnaise and cole slaw. I found a photo on the Publix website for those who would like to see what it looks like.

Now that we've covered the subs, let's look at some other additions.

Wings: These buttery, seasoned wings are available through October. A Google search shows these wings are $10.69 in my area, although they were sold out.

Dips: Available through December, NFL fans can get a Cuban Sandwich-style dip which is made with the toppings you'd find on a Cuban Sandwich, and a pepper jack seafood dip, which includes imitation crab meat, cream cheese, sour cream, hot sauce, pimento cheese, garlic, and mayonnaise.

A Google search indicated that the Cuban Sandwich dip is around $6.63 and the seafood dip is $7.41 on Instacart.

Beer Bratwurst: This specialty sausage is only available until October 24, 2024, and it is priced at $7.41.

Teas: Those who are fans of Publix tea can get Guava cherry lemonade tea (priced at $3.31) and peach mango passionfruit tea (for which I could not find a price.)
