(EYT) — In a case that gives new meaning to “dirty laundry,” a teen landscaper’s alleged foray into a Sugarcreek area home has left him facing a heap of legal trouble.Charles Clyde Gilbert Jr., 18, of Oil City, was arrested on September 18 after allegedly entering a home and stealing women’s undergarments and other items, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Sugarcreek Police Department. According to a criminal complaint filed by Patrol Officer Regina DeLoe, the incident came to light on September 10 when a house sitter reported suspicious activity at a residence along Allegheny Boulevard. Upon investigation, police found no signs of forced entry but noted the interior was disturbed, with clothes scattered and rooms “ransacked.” Days later, the homeowner reported approximately $445 worth of underwear and “personal items” missing. A tip from a friend of the victim led investigators to Gilbert, who had been mowing the property’s lawn around the time of the incident. The complaint states that Gilbert was recently dismissed from his landscaping job after an alleged incident at another residence. When questioned by police on September 18, Gilbert allegedly admitted to entering the home without authorization and taking the items. Gilbert now faces charges including first-degree felony burglary, third-degree felony criminal trespass, and second-degree misdemeanor theft. He is being held at Venango County Prison on $2,500 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for September 25 before Magisterial District Judge Andrew F. Fish. Public defender Christopher Gordon Klingman has been assigned to represent Gilbert, while Assistant District Attorney Kyle Brian Peasley will prosecute the case. </div></body>
