Helene: Tampa Bay Coastal Regions Under Evacuation Orders

TAMPA -- Mandatory evacuation orders are now in effect for coastal counties throughout the Tampa Bay area.

Pinellas and Hillsborough counties both ordered residents in Zone A and those living in manufactured and mobile homes to leave. Hernando, Pasco, Manatee and Sarasota counties have already issued orders for Zone A residents to leave. Hernando county has issued mandatory evacuation orders for those living in Zones A, B and C, meaning all county residents west of U.S. 19. Pasco county is allowing Zone B and C residents with special needs to evacuate to shelters.

Pinellas emergency management director Cathie Perkins says PSTA bus service will take people and, if needed, their pets to shelters.

Here are the list of shelters in Pinellas:

o   Dunedin Highland Middle: 70 Patricia Ave, Dunedin (special needs)

o   Gibbs High: 850 34th St S, St. Petersburg (pet friendly)

o   John Hopkins Middle: 701 16th St S, St. Petersburg (special needs)

o   Largo High: 410 Missouri Ave, Largo (pet friendly)

o   Lealman Innovation Academy: 4900 28th St N, Lealman

o   Palm Harbor University High - Building 19: 1900 Omaha St, Palm Harbor (special needs, pet friendly and general population)

o   Palm Harbor University High - Main Building: 1900 Omaha St, Palm Harbor (pet friendly)

Pasco adds the following Special Needs Only shelter will open Wednesday at 9 a.m.:
