He led the Lady Bulldogs of South Broward High School to 6 state championships while positively influencing and inspiring his players and mentees to be the best versions of themselves, not only athletically but academically as well.Professionally, he has worked for over 30 years with the City of Hollywood as Program Director in the Parks Department at both Washington Park and the Dr. Martin Luther King Centers. His stellar, innovative leadership and management style has given him iconic, generational stature among the youth and citizens of Hollywood and surrounding areas. As a community servant, he is a respected member of the Liberia Civic Association, a minister with the New Jerusalem Baptist Church and the founder of the Hollywood Eagles Development Program.He has received several endorsements from local officials, none more impactful than that of Tamara James, a Walker protege as well as former Dania Beach mayor who presently serves as a Dania Beach commissioner. What can Dems do to change the trajectory?Coach Walker: Get back to the fundamentals. I think the average person just wants to know that you hear them, understand their concerns and you’re trying to help and do the right thing. As Democrats we can sometimes try to be too smart for our own good.WG: Which is more important to you – voter registration, voter education or voter turnout?Coach Walker: As a community, all of them are important at different times.
