    OBITUARY: Linda Player Freeman

    Linda Player Freeman, 72, of Hamlet, passed away Sunday, Sep. 22, 2024 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital.

    She was born Aug. 4, 1952 in Scotland County, a daughter of the late Gene and Helen Dorherty Player.

    She retired from Old Dominion Box Company. Linda was one of a kind. She always helped anyone that came in her path and made sure her family was taken care of. In her free time, she would sing karaoke. It was her favorite hobby. She will be cherished by her loved ones and missed greatly.

    A memorial service will be conducted Thursday, Sept. 26, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Watson-King Funeral Home Chapel in Hamlet with Bishop Marvin Taylor officiating.

    Surviving, her children, Bobby Ray Williams Jr. (Joann), Tanya Michelle Smith and Crystal Renee Hudson; siblings, Milton Player, Donnie Player, Debra Williams, Kathy Brown, Timothy Player and Dottie Shirley; grandchildren, Karissa Marie Smith, Heather Renee Locklear, Marsha Ann Schmidt, George P. Yandle, Ashley Smith, Tamara Owens, Meredith and Madison Gathings, Leland Emmanuel Owens, Michael Anthony Brower, Michael Eric Ray Williams, Bobbie Jo Gathings, Natlie Brown, Alana Brower, Aniha Bittle, Jordan Bittle, Marinda Lacy Sweatt, Nicholas Andrew Sweatt and Nolan Garrett Sweatt.
