    I had some great salsa in San Marcos and I asked about the ingredients. he came back a few minutes later and rattled off a list of goodies and then said " and the cook said they added one secret ingredient!" I smiled and said tell the cook that it's the cactus that makes the dish 😋 the cook came to my table and asked how I knew, he thought that he had used too much cactus but I told him that I did survival training in the desert and lived off cactus for a week and could never forget that taste. it's not necessarily bad and definitely works best with other flavors mixed in but just cactus gets old quickly
