Events will not be selectable on the site after that time, and payment must then be made on site upon arrival to event parking staff (cash only). </li><li>NOTE: Curtain Road will close at 5 p.m. on Friday for homecoming parade and will reopen at 8 p.m.</li></ul>HISTORY <ul><li>Penn State is facing Northeastern for the third time in program history.</li><li>The series is currently tied at 1-1-0 with the last meeting occurring on September 24, 2023, when Penn State won 2-1.</li><li>The Nittany Lions have faced Hockey East teams 51 times in the programs history and tally a record of 16-24-13.</li></ul>SCOUTING THE HUSKIES<ul><li>Northeastern enters the 2024-25 season after being picked to finish second in the Hockey East preseason poll.</li><li>Last season, the Huskies went 25-11-3 overall and 16-8-3 in league play.</li><li>The Huskies ended the season finishing second in the league after falling to UConn in the Hockey East Tournament championship game.</li><li>The Huskies return 21 to the team from last year’s roster.</li></ul>ON THE OFFENSIVE<ul><li>Penn State returns four of their top point getters from last year’s CHA Tournament Championship team including Tessa Janecke, Mya Vaslet, Katelyn Roberts, and Brianna Brooks.</li><li>The Nittany Lions sat ninth in the nation in the scoring offense in 2023-24 averaging 3.18 goals per game.</li><li>They also sat ninth in the nation in total points with 319 in the same season.</li><li>Penn State sat sixth in the nation in power-play goals with a total of 32 which was a program record for most power-play goals in a single season.</li></ul>SCHEDULE HIGHLIGHTS<ul><li>34 regular-season games, including 14 home games at Pegula Ice Arena.</li><li>The Nittany Lions will make their first appearance in program history at the annual Ice Breaker, Smashville, and East West Showcase.</li><li>Five games against three 2024 NCAA Tournament teams (UConn, Cornell, Ohio State, Stonehill, and Minnesota).</li><li>Five games against Hockey East opponents (UConn, Northeastern, Merrimack).</li><li>The Nittany Lions face Bemidji State for the first time in program history on Jan. 3 in Minneapolis, Minn.</li><li>Penn State hosts Northeastern for the first time in program history on Sept. 26-27.</li><li>20 AHA conference games with home and away series against Syracuse, Lindenwood, Mercyhurst, RIT and Robert Morris.</li></ul>QUEST FOR A 3-PEAT BEGINS<ul><li>Penn State opens the 2024-25 season on the quest for its third straight CHA Tournament title and NCAA tournament appearance.</li><li>The Nittany Lions have taken over the AHA since 2022-23 after winning three straight regular season titles and the last two tournament titles.</li><li>Penn State was picked to once again be champs in the AHA in the 2024-25 AHA Coaches’ Poll.</li><li>All eyes will be set on the Nittany Lions this season as look to get over the hump of winning their first NCAA tournament game in program history.</li></ul>Get all of the latest updates on Penn State women's ice hockey by following @PennStateWHKY on Twitter, "liking" the Penn State Women's Ice Hockey page on Facebook and following @pennstatewhky on Instagram.</div></body>
