Gwinnett County Public Schools is implementing a new weapons detection system to increase security measures at its stadiums. The district will roll out the Evolv Weapons Detection System at some of the events in its stadiums on Friday, Sept. 27. The system combines the use of advanced sensors and artificial intelligence to detect potential concealed weapons, including firearms, knives and explosive devices. GCPS highlighted in a press release that the technology differs from other traditional metal detectors in that it can differentiate between weapons and non-threatening metal objects.
