“He’d walk over and spit on each one” - The weird way Michael Jordan reserved his cinnamon rolls

Apart from his relentless desire to be the best at everything, Michael Jordan also realized that he needed to share success with his teammates. Over time, while as a leader he was able to share the ruins of triumph with his teammates, his knack for sharing his beloved dishes was never a strong suit of the five-time MVP as he simply couldn’t tolerate anyone eyeing his food. As a result, the 6’6” shooting guard went as far as to spit on his food to end the temptation of others.

Jordan spat on his cinnamon rolls

Be it sharing the ball on the court or sharing food off of it, the six-time Finals MVP wasn’t a fan of it. Take his love for cinnamon rolls, for example. Mike had such a craving for them that when he was on set for commercials or films, he would make sure his cook prepared a batch just for him. However, he simply couldn’t stand the thought of anyone else even touching them.

So, according to ESPN’s Wright Thompson, MJ would go to great lengths to protect those cinnamon rolls, sometimes doing something as extreme as spitting on them to make sure no one else had a bite.

"Back when they used to shoot a lot of commercials, Jordan's security team would wait for him in his trailer while he was on set, " Thompson wrote . "A woman named Linda cooked Michael's meals, and he loved cinnamon rolls. She'd bake a tray and bring it to him. When it came time to film, he'd see the guards eyeing the cinnamon rolls and he’d walk over and spit on each one, to make sure nobody took his food."

Mike was habitual of spitting on food to reserve it for himself

Interestingly, this behavior extended to another infamous incident—‘the flu game’ during the 1997 NBA Finals. After ‘The Last Dance,’ fans learned that Mike’s health was affected by food poisoning rather than the flu as he ate the pizza all by himself. Jason Hehir, the director of the documentary, once disclosed how Jordan took drastic measures to avoid the temptations of other people in the room to take a slice from his pizza, even when they had already had dinner.

"When the pizza shows up, Michael says, 'Everybody do not touch this pizza. This is mine. You didn't wait for me, don't touch this.' So he spits on the pizza," Hehir said . "This is not the only time. You can look up when Michael would spit on food if he didn't want people to eat it."

Safe to say, had he even merely told others to not touch his food, his stern word would have reserved that item, but the 14-time All-Star surely had unconventional means to make sure to end all temptations.

The more I hear about Jordan the more he sounds like an asshole. But at least he can put a ball in a hoop better than most I guess

the story I heard was from the guy who wrote the book and it's been out a while, he said"I'll tell you all you need to know about Michael Jordan he pays a guy in exorbitant amount to travel with him and make cinnabon style cinnamon rolls, when he eats what he's going to eat he spits on the ones that are left so no one else will eat them",he's not spitting on the ones he's going to eat he's spitting on the ones that he won't eat just to keep other people from having them, look up his rant against his coaches and former players when he was inducted into the Hall of Fame and you'll get a better glimpse into Michael Jordan
