    Protecting tenants does not help the landlord. when does the landlord get assistance when tenants screws up there property. Thats why you have higher rents. It shouldn't take months or a year to get out a bad tenant. The cost to evict can add up over time.

    They actually have 8 days plus 5. This is because you have to both post a notice to the door AND mail the notice. They calculate that it takes at least 8 days for the mail to arrive and then you have 5 days to respond after that. Now you have 10. So, you have 18 days to respond.
