(Deer Isle) – A new ambulance should arrive sometime in 2025 for Memorial Ambulance Corps in Deer Isle. Philanthropist Donald Sussman made the purchase possible with a $400-thousand-dollar donation. The gift will purchase the vehicle and equip it with the devices necessary for all sorts of life saving emergencies. Memorial Ambulance Officials say the purchase will allow them to use the current 2015 rig as a backup. They had started a fund-raising campaign, and the Ellsworth American reports funds from that will be used to expand the ambulance association’s headquarters.
