    On the hunt for an autumn gourd?

    We’ve had our eyes peeled for local pumpkin patches since the first hint of orange started to show in the tree canopy.

    Check out these spots for pumpkin picking this fall:

    Pumpkin Patches in Beaverton and Hillsboro

    Hoffman Farms

    Located at 22242 S.W. Scholls Ferry Road in Beaverton

    Join the six-generation farming tradition at Hoffman Farms this fall, with an authentic pumpkin patch featuring more than 20 pumpkin varieties. Take a scenic route with red wagons down to the field, navigate a 10-acre corn maze and hop on The Scholls Valley Railroad train rides every 15 minutes. There’s also live music on weekends and delicious culinary offerings from the BBQ Food Truck and Barn Door Brewing. The farm activities, including the pumpkin and corn fields, are open daily. Entry and parking are free. Don't miss the chance to adorn your porch with pumpkins, hay bales, and cornstalks from their "Front Porch Bundle."

    Oregon Heritage Farms

    Located at 22801 S.W. Scholls Ferry Road in Hillsboro

    Experience a range of delightful activities at Oregon Heritage Farms. Indulge in apple cider donuts and slushies, say hello to farm animals — goats, sheep, and occasionally pigs. Challenge yourself on the spider web, a rope and net structure providing exciting climbing opportunities. Pumpkin proceeds support the Hillsboro High School baseball team.

    Roloff Farms

    Located at 23985 N.W. Grossen Drive in Hillsboro

    Experience the magic of fall at Roloff Farm, open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday through Oct. 29. Roloff Farms, the backdrop for TLC's popular reality show, "Little People, Big World," has transformed its 100-acre landscape into an 'agritainment' extravaganza. General admission tickets, priced at $20 per person for ages 2 and above, offer access to a plethora of activities like the trike track, hay pyramids, chickenopolis, pumpkin express train, duck races and much more. Pumpkins can be picked separately, priced at 89 cents per pound, with specialty pumpkins and gourds available too. For an enhanced experience, consider the combo admission at $26 per person, which includes everything in general admission plus a 30-minute guided wagon tour featuring the Roloff Castle, Noah's Ark, and a stop at the Western Town. Parking is free, but please leave pets at home as only service animals are allowed.

    Scholls Ferry Farm

    Located at 23440 S.W. Scholls Ferry Road in Hillsboro

    Scholls Ferry Farm is known for its family-friendly atmosphere and corn maze. Choose from a variety of pumpkins, including giant-jumbo ones priced between $20 to $50, warties for $7, regulars ranging from $5 to $10, and minis at just 75 cents. Leashed dogs are welcome to join in on the fall festivities.

    Smith Berry Barn

    Located at 24500 S.W. Scholls Ferry Road in Hillsboro

    Smith Berry Barn began as a U-pick raspberry farm in 1978 and has since transformed into a 30-acre family farm offering a diverse array of produce and experiences. The farm maintains a 5-acre apple orchard with more than 20 antique and modern apple varieties, as well as a variety of specialty produce like gourmet greens, herbs, squash, pumpkins, tomatoes, and peppers. Smith Berry Barn is also home to a picturesque pumpkin patch and hosts wine and cider tasting events during the fall season. The farm welcomes service animals, but is otherwise pet-free.

    U-Pick Pumpkin Patches

    26 West Farm

    Located at 37420 Harrison Road in Banks

    Established in 2020 amidst the COVID-19 lockdowns, 26 West Farms, founded by Melissa Duyck-Petrick with her father Steve's support, has transformed a horse stable into an oasis. Initially barren land was revitalized with a well, enabling the cultivation of strawberries, sweet corn, pumpkins, raspberries and more. The farm offers fresh produce, U-pick experiences, and serves as a picturesque venue for events like wedding receptions and live music nights. They also have a variety of fall events on the calendar, like The Great Pumpkin Hunt on Oct. 6.

    Papa's Pumpkin Patch at Wachlin Farms

    Located at 20345 S.W. Scholls-Sherwood Road in Sherwood

    Experience the pure joy of autumn at Wachlin Farm's Papa's Pumpkin Patch. Founded by Bob Wachlin during his high school days, the patch has bloomed into a sprawling 50-acre haven of pumpkins and squash, exuding an authentic charm that captures the essence of the season. Handpick pumpkins, squash, gourds, and fall décor straight from the fields, and photographers will enjoy stunning backdrops. Open daily.

    Phil's Farm Market

    Located at 17971 S.W. Scholls Sherwood Road in Sherwood

    At Phil's Farm Market, enjoy delightful hayrides and explore our bountiful offerings without any entrance fees. With a family legacy of over 50 years in Sherwood, Phil's Farm Market offers the flavors of the season: plums, apples, summer squash, corn, tomatoes, winter squash, and of course, vibrant pumpkins. Open Tuesday to Sunday.

    Peters Pumpkin Patch

    Located at 1990 S.W. Lafollett Road in Cornelius

    Greg and Jennie Peters turned their 50-acre family farm into the Peters Pumpkin Patch in 2021, inviting visitors to come check out their corn maze, meet the resident chickens and Nigerian Dwarf goats and pick out pumpkins. Pumpkins range in price from $3-25 and are offered at fixed prices. The corn maze covers just under an acre of the farm, and visitors can explore it for free. There are also a variety of photo backdrops situated around the farm.

    Jim Dandy Farm Pumpkin Patch

    Located at 45770 N.W. Sunset Highway in Banks

    For more than half a century, Jim Dandy Farm has highlighted the fall season with a corn maze, haunted house, wagon rides, a farm market and more. The festivities run from Sept. 29 to Oct. 29. Entry to the farm and all activities are free.

    Pumpkin patches with activities for kids

    Lee Farms

    Located at 21975 S.W. 65th Ave. in Tualatin

    Experience the ultimate fall harvest adventure at Lee Farms through Oct. 29. Open Tuesday to Sunday, tickets are $15 and an activity wristband is $29.95. General admission includes entrance to farm grounds, animal displays, hayrides, corn mazes and parking. Upgrade to the activity wristband for unlimited access to the Super Mega Slide, hay mazes, slides, bounce pillow, jump pad, and barrel wagon rides. Infants under 1 are free with accompanying adult purchase. Enjoy a variety of farm activities including animal displays, bakery treats, pumpkin picking and more.

    Our Table Pumpkin Patch

    Located at 13390 S.W. Morgan Road in Sherwood

    Visit the Our Table pumpkin patch, where locally grown pumpkins and gourds await you each weekend in October. For just $10 per child, enjoy unlimited crafts, with different activities available each weekend, including apple and pear tasting, cider pressing, face painting, walking tour and more. Food options include mac and cheese, baked treats, chili, cornbread and hot mulled cider.

    Plumper Pumpkin Patch

    Located at 11435 N.W. Old Cornelius Pass Road in Portland

    Celebrate the spirit of fall at the Plumper Pumpkin Patch and Tree Farm's Fall Festival, running every Wednesday to Sunday to Oct. 29. Enjoy a delightful array of family activities, from hayrides and a massive corn maze to animal petting, thrilling tube slides, an exciting new ball zone and various yard games. Explore the farm store for fresh produce, and savor delectable treats like caramel apples and their renowned pumpkin donuts. While admission covers an abundance of fun, certain experiences such as purchasing pumpkins, food items, pony rides and select retail store items entail additional charges. Please note that the farm has transitioned to a cashless system, so plan your visit accordingly. Tickets can be purchased online in advance at a discounted rate.

    Red Berry Barn

    19200 S.W. Chapman Road in Sherwood

    Embrace the spirit of fall at the Red Berry Barn's Fall Harvest Festival in Sherwood, through Oct. 31. Families are invited to the farm, owned by Aaron and Erika Wilcott, to partake in a delightful array of activities. Explore their pumpkin patch, featuring 15 different pumpkin varieties from tiny gourds to massive pumpkins. The farm offers more than just pumpkins; indulge in their homemade pies, donuts, and cinnamon rolls from their bakery, or peruse the Country Store for home décor, local jams and gifts. Tickets are $24 on weekends and $18 Monday through Friday. Explore unlimited activities such as hayrides, bounce houses, tube slides, and the corn maze, offering a memorable family experience amidst the autumn charm of the Red Berry Barn.
