Those two ties came against two ranked opponents including the current No. 2 team in Arkansas, so they do not have a bad result yet this season.Their most recent match saw them travel to Penn State to take on the No. 9 Nittany Lions, a game MSU ended up winning 1-0 off a goal from senior Justina Gaynor. That result this past weekend was good enough to have Michigan State move up to No. 1 in the coaches poll rankings which is the most respected poll in college soccer.Up next for the Spartans is another tough test against No. 11 Ohio State in Columbus. After that the Spartans have back to back home games against Rutgers and Michigan. Their game against the Wolverines is on Saturday Oct. 5 so I think it's safe to say that this is a game the fanbase needs to come out and support the team.Michigan State failed to find any significant success in the NCAA Tournament the last two seasons, but with the Spartans soaring up to No. 1 in the rankings the expectation now is for them to make a deep run. And I for one can't wait to watch and see what they accomplish the rest of this season.</div></body>
