It sounds like he passed away due to a medical complication, which I doubt his friends knew about. It is very sad for his family, but I am sure his friends are upset as well. I am sure the tension and judgments and accusations at school are unbearable. He clearly made it into his house fine, a friend brought his phone and put it on the porch. This seems like such a sad medical accident.
