Continuing its annual tradition of praising local businesses and leaders, the Washington County Chamber wants to hear your nominations for the 2024 Annual Awards.

Beginning in 1988, the chamber has held the ceremony as a way to recognize individuals, organizations and businesses that have gone above and beyond in the community — highlighting innovation, leadership and service dedicated to benefiting the region.

“This event is our opportunity to honor those who truly make a difference in Washington County,” Deanna Palm, president and chief executive officer of the Washington County Chamber of Commerce, said in a release. “Each year, we are inspired by the stories of dedication, innovation, and leadership from businesses and individuals throughout our community, and I look forward to seeing this year’s nominations.”

Awards span seven categories, highlighting up-and-coming leaders, long-established operations and those who have committed their time to making Washington County a better place to live in:

Business of the Year: Separated into two categories based on company size, the award pays tribute to businesses excelling in best practices, customer satisfaction and community involvement. Legacy Award: The Legacy Award is given to an individual who has demonstrated a lifetime of outstanding service and contributions to the community — leaving a lasting impact on Washington County.Emerging Leader Award: Celebrating individuals between the ages of 21 and 41, the Emerging Leader Award spotlights young professionals who are blossoming in their careers and demonstrating strong leadership potential. Robert R. Herb Leadership Award: Named after a local visionary leader, the award recognizes one upstanding person who has shown long-standing dedication to the greater Hillsboro area, shaping the community through sustained contributions.Organization of the Year: Presented to a nonprofit organization, the award honors a group that has had a significant impact and demonstrated leadership within the community.Agribusiness Award: Granted to a business in Washington County excelling in operations such as farming, ranching, forestry or vineyards, while also demonstrating a commitment to community involvement.Distinguished Youth Award: Designed to highlight the achievements of youth, the award recognizes a youth group or individual under 21 who has shown outstanding achievement and leadership.

The award recipients will be recognized during the 2024 Annual Awards Gala, presented by Intel, on Thursday, Dec. 5, at NW Events and Environments.

Alongside a ceremony, the event will feature local entertainment by high school students and networking opportunities to help build local connections. Tickets to attend the event cost $95 per person.

All nominations must be submitted no later than 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7.
