Hundreds of Trainer residents attended the borough’s annual Family Day event last Saturday (Sept. 21) at Henry Johnson Park. Hosted by the borough’s Recreation Committee, the fun-filled afternoon featured rides, DJ music, informational booths, food, face painting, games, a dunk tank, petting zoo, horse rides, a mechanical bull, demonstrations, and lots of fellowship. “This has been a wonderful day for our residents,” said Trainer Council President John Gaspero. “We invited businesses for the first time to present their services to our community and it was a great success. Trainer is a great place to live because everyone works together. It is our hope that our residents enjoyed themselves.” Attendees enjoyed hamburgers, hot dogs, cotton candy, food samples, and drinks. Local children had a great time playing in the inflatable jump rides and on the ponies. “This is so much fun,” said Jonah Robinson. “I really liked riding on the horse and petting the ducks and goats. I wish I could bring one home, but my mom said no.”
