Mount Olive entered the contest with a four-game winning streak in the series, but Limestone holds a 5-4 edge in nine meetings. Meanwhile, the Saints improve to 4-2 overall behind a 3-2 record in league play.The Limestone offense recorded three shots in the opening eight-plus minutes with graduate student goalkeeper Alanna Barrett collecting a pair of saves. The Trojans answered with four shots and a trio of penalty corners before Barrett tallied two more saves in the final minute of the first quarter. Mount Olive scored the initial goal of the game as senior Gwen Wood netted her first collegiate goal on a penalty stroke at the 22:40 mark, 1-0.In the third quarter, the Saints found an opening in the UMO defense to tie the contest at 1-1 after Zoe Bergmann beat the goalkeeper one-on-one following a pass from Felicitas Herrero Martel at the 31:08 mark. At the end of the final two quarters, both sides registered six shots in the second half with the game forced into overtime.UMO and Limestone each registered a shot on goal in the first overtime before the Saints scored the game-winning goal at the 74:24 mark to seal the 2-1 win.Barrett totaled seven saves on 15 shots faced in 74-plus minutes in the cage.Both sides tallied 15 shots in the contest while the Trojans held an 11-8 edge in penalty corners.UMO returns to Ray McDonald Sr. Sports Complex on Saturday, Sept. 28, to face No. 7 ranked Newberry at 1 p.m.</div></body>
