The tradition consists of seniors coming to school early dressed in spirit wear and decorating the main entrance in all things blue, followed by students dancing to music. Student body president senior Brynn Shideler explains what went into coordinating the logistics of the event beforehand. “To prepare for Blue Bomb, I had a lot of communication with the chaperones and [assistant principal] Dr. [Heath] Wilson because it is such a fun event, but there are a lot of rules that we have to follow in order for the event to run smoothly,” Shideler said. “Making sure that everyone was on the same page was the biggest step of everything.”Like many other students, seniors Celeste White and Aislyn Wittmer had a sleepover the night before Blue Bomb due to the early time seniors were expected to arrive. White explains how the event began their day on a positive note. “We went to Target and bought decorations the night before. We had a sleepover because we knew we had to be up early and at school by 6:00,” White said. “We just thought we’d get ready together and make it a fun, cute night. We bought cinnamon rolls for the morning, and it was just a good start to a fun day.”Senior Brooklyn Markovich says that Blue Bomb is a valuable tradition at Mill Valley. “It’s a tradition that I’ve seen other seniors before us do, so I kind of already knew what it would be like. I was just excited to finally do it this year because we’re finally seniors,” Markovich said. “I think Blue Bomb is a good tradition; it’s really fun. I feel like it’s great to be able to show school spirit.”Shideler enjoys how the event brings the seniors together to make memories for their final Homecoming week. “My favorite part is how many seniors showed up.” Shideler explains. “I feel like there’s not a lot of things that the majority of our class goes to together, and having everyone together at Blue Bomb was so fun; I love it.”Thinking about the photos she took with her friends, Markovich considers how Blue Bomb will be a fond memory from her senior year. “I’ve really enjoyed being able to take pictures with my friends,” Markovich said. “I know if I ever want to make a scrapbook or something, I’ll have all these memories to look back on from my senior year.”</div></body>
