LACONIA, NH – Lakes Region Mutual Fire Aid (LRMFA) recently announced a series of promotions during its quarterly Board of Directors meeting, reflecting the organization’s commitment to leadership and operational excellence. Chief Jon Goldman proudly shared the news of these advancements within the Fire Mutual Aid District, which professionally dispatches and coordinates Fire, EMS, and All Hazards emergency incidents for 35 communities in and around the Lakes Region of New Hampshire.
The key promotion was the advancement of Lieutenant Erin Hannafin to the position of Deputy Chief Coordinator. Hannafin, from Moultonborough, NH, has been with LRMFA since 2013 and has progressively risen through the ranks. She was promoted to Lieutenant in 2018 and has since served as the Shift Supervisor on A shift, while also managing responsibilities such as recruitment, retention, quality assurance, and training coordination. Notably, Deputy Chief Hannafin becomes the first female Deputy Chief Coordinator in the history of the LRMFA.
The promotion process was rigorous, involving internal and external candidates who were evaluated through a comprehensive review process, including anonymous resume reviews, oral board interviews, and a Chiefs Interview panel composed of industry experts and LRMFA leaders. Chief Goldman expressed his confidence in Hannafin’s abilities, stating, “Deputy Chief Hannafin excelled in all stages of the process and was ranked as the #1 candidate in each independent phase. I have full faith and confidence that she will perform the duties of the Deputy Chief with the level of commitment, professionalism, and passion she has brought to other roles.”
In addition to Hannafin’s promotion, Dispatcher Brian Dumka of Tilton, NH, was promoted to Lieutenant. Dumka, who rejoined LRMFA earlier this year, had previously served as a Lieutenant before pursuing other opportunities. In his new role, Dumka will continue overseeing the organization’s Information Technology initiatives, which he has already played a key role in improving. “Since Lt. Dumka has taken on our IT responsibilities, he has done an amazing job at making our systems more streamlined, efficient, and resilient,” Chief Goldman noted.
Both promotions will take effect on November 1, 2024, and a recognition ceremony will be held later in November to present the new badges and acknowledge several other employees for their dedication and service.
Furthermore, LRMFA will promote Per-Diem Dispatcher Hannah Gannon of Gilmanton to the position of Full-Time Dispatcher starting November 1, 2024.
