Malolepszy placed second in the boys' 5K race.&nbsp; Denise Duelley/The Ritchie Gazette</figcaption></figure>WEST UNION, W.Va. — Dylan Malolepszy and Bentlee Williams paced the Rebel cross country squads, leading their teams as the top runners during the Doddridge Invitational on Sept. 17.Malolepszy, who placed second in his race, timed at 16:51.14, trailing Tyler Consolidated’s Amos Kimble by 18 seconds.The senior was named runner of the meet by runwv.com for his solid performance. He was able to beat his predicted place and ranking on the site.Williams followed a pair of Williamstown competitors to the finish line, in third (21:41.87), with about 18 seconds between.“Bentlee is running great. She continues to improve and always looks so strong during each race,” said Coach Holli Vaughan.According to Vaughan, the Doddridge course is always a love-hate relationship for the runners. “They love the creek crossing, but hate the hill known as ‘Big Bertha,'" Vaughn said. Blake Seese and Kenson Davis were able to break the 20-minute mark, as the No. 2 and 3 Rebel runners. Jonathan Stringer and Linhang Chen completed the team’s total.Faith Rhoades is a new addition to the Lady Rebel team, and traveled the course for her first seasonal race.As a team, the Rebels placed fourth behind Tyler Consolidated.“We really have to step up our game, because Tyler is in our region and they beat us by nine points,” said Vaughan. “We have some runners injured, but the rest of the boys are working hard to make up for it. This will be a team we need to be ahead of at regionals to make it at the state meet.”Williamstown swept the meet by winning both divisions.</div></body>
