ORANGEBURG, N.Y. – Southern Connecticut volleyball lost a back-and-forth battle at Dominican, 3-2, in a non-conference matchup in Orangeburg, N.Y. With the loss, Southern dropped to 1-11 while Dominican improved to 5-3. The Owls lost the first set, 25-21, before taking the second and third sets, 25-15 and 25-23, respectively. Dominican bounced back to win the fourth set, 25-21, and the deciding fifth set, 15-11. Southern capitalized on early mistakes that saw Dominican combine for 18 errors in the first three games, while the Owls hit .579 without an error in the second set. Down the stretch, the Chargers hit .355 over the final two sets to seal the win.
