It was announced back on Aug. 9 that the park would be closing because of economic challenges according to the park's owner and mayor, Jay Gillian.Mayor Gillian announced that the park was no longer his so he did not have information on what will take over in the future.There have been some reports that the new owner of the building Eustace Mita, who owns the ICONA Resorts hotels, might tear down the iconic castle facade and build an ICONA hotel at the 600 Boardwalk location.Mita has said he needs six months to decide what he might do with the iconic location.Wonderland Piers closing leaves Playland as the lone amusement park on the iconic Ocean City boardwalk for the upcoming summer of 2025.</div></body>
