Too much attention goes to the visitor in the vain hope they'll stay and shower a few people with gold. Then there used to be groups of people that just prayed all day for wealthy people to stay on or for show business people to "discover"them for some performance. Hence, all the efforts have been to cater to the needs of the tourist. Even the airport bus is crammed with heavy luggage from Tourists that travel right to the hotels. The wheels of the bus may be going round and round, but the shocks are busted. A lot of service is gone. Downtown used to hire a brigade of cleaners but we don't see them anymore. Stores are vacant. Today a well dressed local was overdosing on heroin on the #20 bus. Not even a security guard took notice. The City Elders have to restore Downtown into a Business District.
