A shocking incident unfolded during Jane’s Addiction’s September 13th show in Boston, as tensions between frontman Perry Farrell and guitarist Dave Navarro boiled over both on stage and backstage. What started as an on-stage meltdown escalated to backstage meltdown as per Dan Cleary, Navarro’s longtime guitar tech.

Perry Farrell allegedly punched Dave Navarro

Dan Cleary claimed that Farrell punched Navarro in the face backstage following the altercation. Cleary, who has worked closely with Navarro for years is unlikely to lie about what happened.

The drama began during Jane’s Addiction’s live performance when Perry Farrell, seemingly out of control, attempted to tackle Navarro mid-show. Fan-captured footage shows Farrell behaving erratically, at one point even using his microphone as a potential weapon against his bandmates. The heated altercation left the audience stunned and the band in disarray, as Navarro, visibly confused, tried to defuse the situation by asking what was going on.

According to fans, Farrell got in Navarro’s face and began hurling insults, creating a highly tense atmosphere. Before anyone could step in, Farrell lunged at Navarro, seemingly intent on starting a physical confrontation. Although it’s unclear whether any punches landed during the on-stage chaos, the tension continued backstage.

Once the band left the stage, things reportedly escalated further. Dan Cleary claims that once they were backstage, Farrell punched Navarro in the face. While specific details about the altercation remain scarce, Cleary’s account has sparked concern among fans raising questions about the future of Jane’s Addiction and the relationship between its founding members.

    Farrell’s Apology

Since the on-stage incident, Perry Farrell has publicly apologized to Navarro for his actions during the show. The apology is seen as an attempt to mend the strained relationship between the two rock icons. However, fans are left wondering if this will be enough to resolve the conflict and allow the band to continue its tour as scheduled.

On September 16, the band announced that it had canceled the rest of its tour, and Farrell apologized to his “bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family and friends” for his actions.

While altercations between bandmates are not uncommon in the world of rock music, the public nature of this fight, paired with Cleary’s claims about the backstage punch, has left many speculating about the band’s future.
