Pressure Mounts for Indiana Fever to Make Major Changes Following Playoff Elimination

After having one of the most incredible seasons in WNBA history, Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever have officially been eliminated from the playoffs. Despite being a rookie, Clark had sky-high expectations heading into the postseason.

Even so, she played fantastic in their elimination game against the Connecticut Sun, becoming the first rookie in WNBA history to score 25 or more points while recording five or more rebounds and assissts. Aliyah Boston also had a great game, tying the franchise record for most rebounds in a playoff game with 19.

Other players, however, didn't step up as much as they were expected to, including Lexie Hull. After the loss, the Fever have been facing backlash as they lack depth with both Clark and Kelsey Mitchell playing the entire game.

Other fans have talked about the Fever's lack of depth, saying, "the Fever have no bench and therefore can't sustain the playoffs." Another fan added that the Fever "have no bench."

Outside of their lack of depth, fans have also called for the firing of Christie Sides, saying, "Christie Sides needs to get fired," and, "can we fire Christie Sides already?"

It's clear that the Fever's front office has a lot of work cut out for them this offseason if they're going to please the fans with the changes they make. That said, they did a remarkable job this year, going from back-to-back first overall picks, to clinching the sixth seed. If they make the right moves, they will have a remarkably bright future ahead of them.
