<div>The Lackawanna Historical Society will host its third annual Local History Fair, bringing together over 30 local history organizations across three counties. Groups from Archbald, Carbondale, Carbondale Twp., Clifford Twp., Dunmore, Dickson City, Forest City, Greenfield Twp. and Jermyn will be represented at the event.The history fair will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Viewmont Mall in Dickson City. Historical societies, museums, authors and more will share information about their membership, collections and programs.Local organizations participating in the fair are the Archbald Borough Historical Society, Carbondale Historical Society, Carbondale Township Historical Society, Clifford Township Historical Society, Dickson City Historical Society, Dunmore Cemetery Tour, Forest City Area Historical Society, Greenfield Township Historical Society and the Jermyn Historical Society. Other groups participating are Breweriana Aficionado, Daughters of the American Revolution, Everhart Museum, Frances Dorrance Chapter Society for PA Archaeology, Gouldsboro Historical Society, Lackawanna & Wyoming Valley Railway Historical Society, Lackawanna County Library System, Lackawanna County's Electric City Trolley Museum, Lackawanna Heritage Valley, Lackawanna Historical Society, Montrose Fire Museum, Old Forge Historical Society, Pennsylvania American Legion, Rail-Trail Council of NEPA Inc., Susquehanna County Historical Society, Waverly Community House, Waymart Area Historical Society and the Wayne County Historical Society.Authors John Fitzgerald and Nick Petula and family archive and preservation specialist Cheryl Kaiser will also be in attendance.Fair attendees can learn more about available resources and upcoming events. Local souvenirs, books and DVDs will be available for purchase. Sweet treats will be available for sale from Evil Sweets by Lulu.<h2>'Storytellers' author panel</h2>The Lackawanna Historical Society will present a “Storytellers" author panel to guide residents in how to research and tell their family or local history stories. The panel will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Scranton Public Library in the Henkleman Room.The panel will feature authors Susan Campbell Bartoletti ("Growing up in Coal Country" and "Dear America: A Coal Miner’s Bride"), Debra Rose Brillati ("The House of Many Doors") and Bill Conlogue ("Here and There" and "Undermined in Coal Country"). They will discuss how to craft a narrative and bring these stories to life.
