The four-setter saw Lourdes fall in a tough 25-20 decision to start, before dropping the second set 25-19. Displaying an intense come-back effort in the third stanza, the Gray Wolves took the Racers beyond the mark, to win 27-25 to force a fourth set. A 25-16 score in the final set of the night would ultimately grant the host team the 3-1 triumph, despite the strong efforts shown by the visiting pack. The Gray Wolves were led by junior Jolie Sobb, who picked up her fourth season double-double with 11 kills and an impressive team-leading 26 digs. Senior Maddie White also contributed a double-double performance, her third of the season, with a team-best 13 kills on top of 15 digs. Rookie Rania Pavlidi reeled in 18 assists to lead the team, once more. In the front row, it was Sobb and redshirt junior Lindsey Pumford who earned a combined seven of 10 total block assists for the visiting Gray Wolves. Sobb helped on three, while Pumford posted the other four. MATCH NOTES:<ul><li>Sobb's 26 digs marked the third time this season the junior has posted 20-plus digs in a single match. Additionally, it marked her fourth double-digit kills performance of the campaign. </li></ul><ul><li>Three Gray Wolves earned two service aces in the match, one of which was Sobb. </li></ul><ul><li>White's third double-double marked the third time this season the senior has earned double-digit figures in each category. </li></ul><ul><li>The team's 45 collective kills were the fifth 40-plus kill match for the Gray Wolves in the 2024 campaign. </li></ul>The Gray Wolves will return home to the Russel Ebeid Center in Sylvania on Friday, Sept. 27, competing against the Saint Xavier Cougars at 6 pm.
