Despite the game ending with a score of 20-8, the team fought incredibly hard and stayed determined throughout the entire evening on Thursday, September 19th.Coach Ginther pointed out a few of the players who stood out to him. “Two that come to mind right off the bat are Zac Massie and Jacob Lebowitz. Zac did a really good job of filling in at quarterback and also at tight end when we needed him to. He was super cool about making the transition this week. Jacob had a play towards the end of the game where he ran the kid down so that was super cool to see too. Not giving up on a play like that is great.” The Ray’s roster is full of young, driven athletes who are performing well and making the right plays for the team's success. Even with the final score of Thursday’s game showing that the Rays had lost, Coach Wood still felt that they had a good performance. “We didn’t really get going until the second half, but once we did, we had a lot of momentum,” reported Coach Wood. “We were just a couple plays from finishing it with a win.”The Marco Island Academy football team will hope to change their current streak when they face their opponents from Bradenton who have not won a game this season. Playing them at home will hopefully swing to their advantage and boost the team’s morale for the season going forward. The team’s future looks bright and fans can expect more great games and efforts from the Rays for the season going forward.The MIA Rays (1-3) face Saint Stephen’s Episcopal (0-4) at Winterberry Field on Friday, September 27th, at 7:00 PM.</div>
