We should see better sunshine today, but fair weather clouds will remain in the region. Temps should be just a bit better today thanks to the sun, and evaporation rates tick up some leading to better drying. Tomorrow will be almost entirely about the remains of Helene, as the storm makes landfall in the far eastern part of the FL panhandle tonight. This is a strong storm and the low will drive deep into the US mainland, ending up in the TN and OH valleys tomorrow afternoon, tomorrow night into Saturday. We are expecting rain totals as the storm works in tomorrow afternoon through Saturday to be in a range of .25″-2″ over the state. The map below shows combined rain potential from noon tomorrow through noon Saturday.
