    Mille Lacs county attorney lists recent convictions

    Mille Lacs County Attorney Corey Haller issued the following report on recent convictions and sentencing in district court:

    - Floyd Collins Josie, Jr. found guilty of Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle and Controlled Substance Crime in the First Degree. In April of 2021, Josie was charged by the Mille Lacs County Attorney’s Office with Fleeing in a Motor Vehicle and Controlled Substance Crime in the First Degree.

    On September 16-19, 2024, a jury trial was held before the Honorable Mark J. Herzing. The jury found Josie guilty of both counts. Josie was remanded into custody pending a sentencing hearing to be held on November 21, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. As a result of the verdict, Josie is facing up to 160 months in prison.

    The Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office investigated this case with assistance from the Milaca Police Department.

    - Andy Ralph Garbow was sentenced to 201 months in prison for Criminal Sexual Conduct in the First Degree and 142 months in prison for Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 2nd Degree.

    The Honorable Matthew M. Quinn issued his sentencing order on September 19, 2024. Garbow’s sentence includes a lifetime conditional release, and he will be subject to Predatory Offender Registration. Garbow was found guilty of three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the First Degree and two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 2nd Degree after a jury trial on November 3, 2023.

    The Mille Lacs Tribal Police Department investigated this case.

    - Shane Allen Fellers was sentenced to 150 months in prison for Kidnapping. Fellers pleaded guilty to the charge of Kidnapping-To Commit Great Bodily Harm/Terrorize on July 15, 2024.

    The Honorable Matthew M. Quinn issued his sentencing order on September 19, 2024. As part of his sentence, Fellers is subject to Predatory Offender Registration.

    The Mille Lacs Tribal Police Department investigated this case with assistance from the Princeton Police Department, Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office, Wright County Sheriff’s Office, and Plymouth Police Department.
