West Ottawa at Caledonia
WHERE: Caledonia High School
WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday
RECORDS: West Ottawa 0-4, 0-2 OK Red; Caledonia 3-1, 1-1 OK Red
LAST WEEK: West Ottawa lost 21-7 to East Kentwood, Caledonia beat Grand Haven 36-28
LAST YEAR'S MATCHUP: Caledonia won 49-3
SERIES HISTORY: Caledonia leads 5-3
SCOUTING REPORT: The Panthers have struggled to start the seasons despite some flashes of greatness. Getting into the meat of the OK Red Conference schedule won't help things. The Panthers need to find some consistency in the run game. All-state running back Kayden Forbes has been targeted by opposing defenses and the Panthers need to find a way to get him loose.
PREDICTION: Caledonia 31, West Ottawa 20
Kelloggsville at Holland
WHERE: Hope College's Ray & Sue Smith Stadium
WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday
RECORDS: Holland 1-3, 0-1 OK Silver; Kelloggsville 0-4, 0-2 OK Silver
LAST WEEK: Holland lost 50-21 to Belding, Kelloggsville lost 35-0 to Hopkins
LAST YEAR'S MATCHUP: N/A
SERIES HISTORY: First matchup
SCOUTING REPORT: The Dutch had a tough one with first-place Belding last week, especially without starting quarterback Amari Powell. Powell is hoping to return this week and that could make for a memorable homecoming game for the Dutch, especially if the defense can step up a notch.
PREDICTION: Holland 28, Kelloggsville 14
East Grand Rapids at Holland Christian
WHERE: Holland Christian High School
WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday
RECORDS: Holland Christian 4-0, 1-0 OK Blue; East Grand Rapids 2-2, 0-1 OK Blue
LAST WEEK: Holland Christian beat Ottawa Hills 51-8,
LAST YEAR'S MATCHUP: N/A
SERIES HISTORY: First matchup
SCOUTING REPORT: The Maroons are on a roll and look to keep that going at home. The Holland Christian offense has been stellar and the defense has been a huge improvement from a year ago. But this will be the biggest test they face yet and it will come down to the defense.
PREDICTION: Holland Christian 31, East Grand Rapids 28
Wyoming at Zeeland East
WHERE: Zeeland Stadium
WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday
RECORDS: Zeeland East 2-2, 0-1 OK Green; Wyoming 1-3, 0-1 OK Green
LAST WEEK: Zeeland East lost 28-13 to Zeeland West; Wyoming lost 42-6 to South Christian
LAST YEAR'S MATCHUP: Zeeland East won 59-8
SERIES HISTORY: Zeeland East leads 4-0
SCOUTING REPORT: The Chix played extremely well for most of the Bird Bowl against Zeeland West. For as much as they lost from last year's team, the defense played great and the offense started to get rolling as the game went on. The Chix will need another big defensive performance to get back on the playoff trail.
PREDICTION: Zeeland East 27, Wyoming 12
Zeeland West at Unity Christian
WHERE: Hudsonville's Baldwin Athletic Complex
WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday
RECORDS: Zeeland West 4-0, 1-0 OK Green; Unity Christian 4-0, 1-0 OK Green
LAST WEEK: Zeeland West beat Zeeland East 28-13, Unity Christian beat Forest Hills Central 43-20
LAST YEAR'S MATCHUP: N/A
SERIES HISTORY: Zeeland West leads 15-3
SCOUTING REPORT: The Crusaders are coming off of an impressive win over defending state champion Forest Hills Central. Unity plays a similar brand of football as the Dux and that will be interesting to see who can take advantage of that knowledge. The Dux played well last week in a win in the Bird Bowl despite not having their starting quarterback Trey Sloothaak in the game. He is looking to return this week and could be the difference for the Dux in this battle of unbeatens.
PREDICTION: Zeeland West 28, Unity Christian 20
Hamilton at Forest Hills Eastern
WHERE: Forest Hills Eastern High School
WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday
RECORDS: Hamilton 3-1, 1-0 OK White; Forest Hills Eastern 3-1, 1-0 OK White
LAST WEEK: Hamilton beat Wayland 35-0, Forest Hills Eastern beat Grand Rapids Christian 51-6
LAST YEAR'S MATCHUP: N/A
SERIES HISTORY: First matchup
SCOUTING REPORT: The Hawkeyes have allowed just 34 points through four games. The sensational defense will have to continue as the schedule gets tougher in the OK White. The offense has found its rhythm and if the defense can make a couple of big plays, it could be a good week for the Hawkeyes.
PREDICTION: Hamilton 24, Forest Hills Eastern 21
Delton Kellogg at Saugatuck
WHERE: Saugatuck High School
WHEN: 7 p.m. Friday
RECORDS: Saugatuck 3-1, 1-0 SAC Valley; Delton Kellogg 2-2, 0-1 SAC Valley
LAST WEEK: Saugatuck defeated Coloma 45-22, Delton Kellogg lost 42-6 to Lawton
LAST YEAR'S MATCHUP: Saugatuck won 42-14
SERIES HISTORY: Saugatuck leads 4-3
SCOUTING REPORT: The Trailblazers have been on a tear since losing in Week 1. The offense has scored 150 points in the past three games and allowed 57. Cass Stanberry has grown into his role at quarterback and the offense is seeing new players make big plays each week.
PREDICTION: Saugatuck 35, Delton Kellogg 20
Tekonsha at Fennville
WHERE: Fennville High School
WHEN: 7 p.m.
RECORDS: Fennville 0-4, Tekonsha 0-4
LAST WEEK: Fennville lost 20-8 to Calvin Christian, Tekonsha lost 66-8 to Burr Oak
LAST YEAR'S MATCHUP: N/A
SERIES HISTORY: First matchup
SCOUTING REPORT: Fennville switched to Tekonsha as an opponent after originally scheduling NorthPointe Chrisitan. Tekonsha had an open week and the Blackhawks will try to put together a strong game at home. If the defense can take a step up, it could be the first win of the season for the Blackhawks.
PREDICTION: Fennville 33, Tekonsha 22
