Steak N Shake in Tampa, Florida, received 5 violations and received a warning from the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation during a complaint inspection on September 23, 2024.

The well-known fast-food chain for burgers & milkshakes, located at 17509 N Palms Village Pl in Hillsborough County, revealed one high-priority violation, along with four basic violations. A follow-up inspection is required to address these issues. The restaurant was not ordered to close but must rectify the problems identified.

According to state records, the high-priority violation involved the dishmachine's bleach cleaning tools not meeting proper minimum strength. This led to the discontinuation of the equipment for thorough cleaning purposes, with manual cleaning required until repairs are made.

Meanwhile, basic violations included trash collection on the warewashing machine's exterior, damaged ceiling tiles in the dining area, unsavory odors in the dish area, and slowly draining floor drains.

Steak N Shake, known for its steakburgers and milkshakes, holds a 3.8-star rating from 2,594 Google reviews.

However, a recent customer review highlighted concerns about cleanliness and staff attitude, suggesting room for improvement in customer service and facility maintenance.

Martin Marten shared in a Google review recently:

"Management should be embarrassed, place needs a deep cleaning, bathrooms have no soap, and most of the staff has a bad attitude, many other options in the area until this place steps its games up."

    High-Priority Violation:

    • Dishmachine bleach cleaning tool was not at proper minimum strength
