During this week’s Grand Slam-themed episode of Dynamite, MVP made his AEW debut in a segment with Prince Nana, seemingly teasing that he wanted to take over the manager role for Swerve Strickland. Yet while it’s far more likely it will lead to a feud instead, with it heavily rumored Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin are set to follow him to AEW, this segment has left fans online buzzing. And now, taking to Instagram , MVP has acknowledged joining AEW by telling his followers, “ I am conducting my business in a new location…

50-year-old MVP, real name Alvin Burke Jr., began his pro wrestling journey in 2002 after spending nine and a half years incarcerated for armed robbery and kidnapping. Subsequently, he would catch WWE’s attention, and in 2005, he signed a developmental contract and was sent to their developmental territory, Deep South Wrestling. From there, he was fast-tracked to the main roster and feuded with names like Kane, Chris Benoit, and Matt Hardy.

However, his main event potential would be squandered after WWE gave him a five-month losing streak, and in 2010 he was released. Still, despite this disappointment, he would continue pursuing a career in pro wrestling, working for New Japan, TNA, and MLW, eventually returning to WWE thanks to a conversation with Paul Heyman, which led to him being a surprise participant in 2020. in the Royal Rumble.
