Celebrated on Saturday, September 28, this year marks the 31st anniversary of NPLD, and there will be nearly 50 volunteer events taking place in California alone.The day invites volunteers to participate in various activities, including trail maintenance, tree planting, beach clean-ups, and habitat restoration. It’s a family-friendly event where people of all ages can come together to help steward America’s natural resources.Coordinated by the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), in partnership with federal agencies like the National Park Service and the USDA Forest Service, NPLD is the nation’s largest single-day volunteer effort benefiting public lands. Volunteers not only get a chance to preserve nature but also enjoy free entry to National Parks and other federal public lands.Here are some highlighted volunteer opportunities in Northern California:<ul><li>Golden Gate National Recreation Area: Participate in habitat restoration, landscaping, and nursery work in San Francisco.
