St. Paul Police investigating the shooting death of a woman in Lowertown Wednesday night

A woman is dead in what is St. Paul's 19th homicide of the year.

St. Paul Police were called around 5:15 Wednesday evening to the 200 block of Kellogg Boulevard East in the city's Lowertown neighborhood. They had a report of shots fired and that someone had been shot.

Police found an adult woman suffering from gunshot injuries. She died at the scene. Investigators determined the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle.

In a Facebook post, Lowertown Lofts Artists Coop says  that the victim is somebody in their collective and was on an art project outside of the building when she was killed.

There is no official word on the victim's identity.
