Cowboys' Brandin Cooks On Fixing Issues: 'Now's The Time!'

    By Adam Schultz,

Dallas Cowboys receiver Brandin Cooks is over talking about what needs to be fixed on both sides of the ball; he wants action.

After two curb-stompings at the hands of the New Orleans Saints and Baltimore Ravens in which the same issues that have plagued the team for years have again been put front and center, Cooks has had enough.

With the New York Giants the next opponent for Dallas , Cooks says the time is now for the team to move on and finally get the season rolling in a positive direction.

"I think at the end of the day, three games in, but we can't keep coming back here like we need to fix it, now's the time absolutely," Cooks said. "No better chance with a short week in front of us to go out there and play our brand of football and fix the things that we talking about.”

In other words, talk is cheap.

The 1-2 Cowboys were talking big about how things would be fixed after the Saints game, but the Ravens tape showed that nothing had changed.

Will we get that against New York? One would hope not.

While yes, the losses to New Orleans and Baltimore are bad, against a Giants team many consider less than, and with the Cowboys having New York's number of late, losing at MetLife Stadium is unthinkable for this Dallas team. That seems especially true given the skill of Cooks' running mate CeeDee Lamb (who is offering a mea culpa for his immature actions from last week's loss to the Saints) ... and given the injury woes of the 1-2 Giants' defensive backfield. As Cooks stated, now is the time to correct things because if the Cowboys can't fix the issues that have plagued them in the last two games against this Giants team, then we must ask the question if they ever will be.
